In January 2026, The United Nations issued a warning stating the world had entered an era of global water bankruptcy due to the climate crisis. Continued use of AI data centers that waste tons of water daily will further impact this emergency. What we need now is water conservation. Not just from AI data centers, but also from golf courses, car washes, football, baseball, and soccer fields. AI use alone is not the cause or main contributor to the climate crisis and water shortage; however, the rate at which resources are being consumed and environments are being damaged is intensified by persistent use of AI. One or two people using AI is like a drop in a bucket compared to the global scale of AI use. Every corporation is using AI in some way to increase their revenue, create new and better marketing strategies, and integrate AI into our daily lives. Normalizing its use so no one questions the cost.

AI generators steal from original artworks and use them to generate your image.
Artists are not compensated for use of their work.
You might be someone who buys your AI generated art or stock images from a reputable company that compensates the original artists for their work. You might think you're using AI in an ethical way, unlike everyone else who follows the latest TikTok trend to have it turn their photo into a Lisa Frank masterpiece. I encourage you to consider the ecological ramifications of paying a company to make AI images and how your contribution gives them incentive to make more and more and more. AI HALLUCINATIONS - HOW AI FEEDS US MISINFORMATION AS FACT
AI is not an all knowing, all seeing, godlike being that can answer any question with 100% accuracy. It cannot predict the future. It cannot even accurately describe the past.
All it can do is produce an answer. That answer may or may not be true.
Large Language Models (LLMs) like GROK, CHAT GPT, Gemini, Claude, Falcon, OPENAI, MetaAI, Google Deepmind and every other AI model are designed to produce an answer. Any answer. The AI models are specifically trained to guess instead of admitting it doesn't know the answer. They will state the wrong answer confidently as if it was true. AI is trained to tell you what it thinks you want to hear and to be submissive and supportive of you. This means it will encourage you to do something that could be harmful or dangerous. Or it could discourage you from doing something that could help you if that thing will take your focus away from it. These AI are created by billion dollar corporations that only have one goal - to get you hooked and keep you hooked. The designers and programmers do not have your best interest in mind. They did not create the best, most powerful tool on the planet that can solve all your problems. Their main goal is to make money off of you. The longer you use it, the more money in their pocket. All that personal information you share with it, thinking you're spilling your heart out and getting helpful feedback, they're selling that data to marketing corporations so they can show you targeted, personalized ads. It's a tool of mass manipulation. Do not be fooled.
A study was done to show the percentage of AI models that lie the most.
Some people might be compelled to argue "Claude only lies 26% of the time vs Chat GPT which is shown to lie 93% of the time."
My point is that it lies. Regardless of the percentage.

USING AI AS YOUR THERPIST
Many people use AI so frequently that it's making their decisions, and being their therapist. No matter which model you use, it will produce incorrect information. It is not safe, as we have learned in multiple lawsuits against various companies where humans have unalived because they trusted AI.
AI psychosis is a new term used to describe a mental health crisis such as delusions and paranoia created by prolonged used of AI chat bots. AI is designed to keep you talking. They are programmed to agree with you and validate you. Instead of a friend or human therapist who might question your logic or reasoning and help bring you back to reality. The AI will continue to agree with you - amplifying the false belief until you completely lose touch with reality.

We can stop using AI to write our papers, do our homework, publish reports, attempt to win court cases and take notes for police. We can stop watching, sharing and liking AI content posted by others. We can unfollow and stop contributing to content creators and businesses that use and promote AI. We can educate ourselves about AI and what it looks like. We can educate others and discourage their use of AI. We can stop using programs and services that rely on AI. We can call our state senators and members of congress and ask for stricter AI regulations. We can advocate for a better world. Together, we can make an impact that matters. AI is housed in data centers all over the world. These data centers require mass amounts of water, energy and minerals to function. Mining the minerals causes damage to the environment. AI Data Centers also put out massive amounts of carbon annually. According to carbon data research, AI data centers are directly contributing to the climate crisis.
